Gather
Come for a show. Stay for dinner. Bring people together.
Celestia Theater, the Event Center at Wadsworth Square and Flame Backstage Grille & Bar are the public side of Wadsworth Square Commons, run by the Wadsworth Square Foundation. Each has its own doors and its own calendar. Start here, then step through.
Celestia Theater
The O. J. Work Auditorium hosted band concerts, class plays and town meetings for more than a century. In 2025 it got a $1.5 million restoration, new sound and lighting, and a new name: Laura Celestia Spelman Rockefeller, born in Wadsworth in 1839.
About 900 seats. Concerts, tribute acts, comedy, dance and holiday shows year-round. The box office is open Wednesday through Friday, 10 AM to 4 PM, and two hours before showtime. Celestia has its own site, its own calendar and its own box office.

at The Commons
The Event Center at Wadsworth Square is the campus's room for a crowd: up to 10,000 square feet, room for up to 250 guests, with layouts that change for the event. It shares the renovated atrium with the grille, so a banquet can spill into dinner and a trade show can end with a concert next door.
- Corporate meetings and conferences
- Luncheons and banquets
- Trade shows and exhibitions
- Maker's markets and craft fairs
- Workshops, seminars and community gatherings
Or call the Foundation at 330-485-3477 with your date and headcount.
The Room, Before the Setup
Polished floor, a row of windows, ring lighting overhead. Tables, staging and layout change for each event.
Flame Backstage Grille & Bar
Work upstairs. See a show. Have dinner. Meet someone before or after. Flame is the part of the building where all of that overlaps, connected to the theater and the atrium, and it opened in early 2026.
Hours and the menu come from the Foundation; call 330-485-3477 before a show night.

Belong
Behind the theater, the event center and the grille is the Wadsworth Square Foundation, a 501(c)(3). The building gets restored one phase at a time, and the community pays for a good share of it. Three ways in.
